On September 12 our class (Gym 7) was allowed to take a language trip to Brighton/England to improve our English. We were accompanied by our class teacher Manfred Nothegger and Michael Angermann, head coach of the Nordic Combined team.
On Saturday morning we were brought to Memmingen Airport/Germany by bus. From there we flew to London Stansted. We were accommodated in pairs or threes at host families in Brighton and the surrounding area. The weather was as expected typically British: changeable, with isolated showers (?).
On Sunday we made a full-day sightseeing and shopping trip London. From Monday to Friday morning (9-12am) we attended a language course at the "Brighton language college" in order to improve our English language abilities. The afternoons were spent with various activities like baseball, tennis, rugby, bowling, a tour through Brighton as well as a trip to the Seven Sisters Country Park, a series of chalk cliffs by the English Channel. What we liked best was the sea kayaking afternoon with an additional visit to the Brighton Pier leisure park.
In the evenings we could experience several things on our own: public viewing of the Rugby World Championship, enjoying the beach or eating typical English food.
All in all, it was an amazing adventure and we are all happy that we had the chance to experience it - we would all go there again any time!
